Intoxoposticons - sobriety in disguise....
(The following piece was "composed" @/circa 4 a.m. - so when i sober up this'll prolly get deleted....I hope not tho... but only the "sober me" will decide....)
RIP Michael Jackson.
One of my childhood heroes, the first music artist who got me into ...music...lol. Besides all the $hit that surrounded him, I'll always remember him for the tunes he gave us and the moves that inspired me to, albeit while being laughed at, dance like never before. Even to this day, the moves I can (now & again) pull off are fundimentally (Chris word, sic? i/e?) down to MJ's stylings. Personally, I can't prove any accusations thrown his way guilty or innocent - I hope innocent. But as far as his artistic craft went, he was in a league of his own. Those moves.... Those tracks... It kills me to read the never ending, unproven; but dubious, accusations... Regardless - I hope that after a life of pain he has finally found peace, in a greater place. RIP MJ.
Shine On, You Crazy Diamond.

Insomnia 2: Tha Max
If you ain't heard it already, this album is well worth a listen.....
Last night we had what was the smallest game of poker for as long as I can remember. 4 players. Colly and myself ended up dancing in the final.... I bottled an A8 and folded to Colly's all-in. He had 4's and we ghost played the hand...it turned out I would've won the game had I called.... The chips went back and forth for a while, but eventually Colly emerged to scoop the win. Inspired thinking by Des has introduced a system that will make all future games a lot faster....all I will say is "two decks".
After the poker, bed time, where the insomnia struck again. It seems to always kick in on Wednesdays for some weird reason. The guts of an hour's sleep is all I've had, not too bad now, but there will be a lot of sleep going down this afternoon.
...but not before I watch the final 2 eps of this season's Lost. The season started out as complete nonsense, but a few explanations were given and now it's come good. Gotta say though, the whole season tips it's hat to the Back To The Future films many times, and I would be shocked to learn the writer(s) is/are not huge BTTF fans.
I said I'd never do it, maybe I can put it down to the insomnia...lol. I've made a twitter account for myself. I certainly won't be updating it that often, and I registered using the (dark and evil) name of Prophecy (Prophecy666 to be exact). I'll only be using it to track / follow, not to post stuff myself. The current Prophecy update reads: "...preparing for Satan's return to earth...." and I can't really see myself adding anything else anytime soon....unless inspired. Nah, I'd rather be reading about what Joy Giovanni is gonna have for dinner....she had "chicken on the grill" last night.....nice, and how Mila Kunis is doing in World of Warcraft (wtf???).

Poker resurrection
"Evening Light", taken by Evy Johansen. Verrrnice.
Doing better in poker, haven't lost in live games, always double up or get the money back so that's a good change....now a couple of big wins would round this current run of form off nicely. Managed to resurrect my online adventures also - won a VIP/Freeroll on Betdaq which added €8 to my account, so just playing small SNG's for now to build dat ass back up. No topping up my account though, for fear of not getting a mortgage in the current economic climate...
Some online fun:

Insomnia to tha max
After an annoying 3rd place in last night's game (ok, at least I didn't lose anything) the insomnia struck like never before. Not 1 minute's sleep. I'd like to say nightmare, but for a nightmare sleep is required. Got around 30 mins sleep at the desk this morning and that's it. Gotta go out later but the lack of sleep might scupper that....time will tell. Back to the poker.... Playing decent all night, massive lead running into the last 3 places. Within a few hands my stack was depleted and used my approx. €40 to go all-in on AJ suited. I ran into Darragh's AK and you can imagine the rest. Dammit anyway, playing pretty good recently, won on Sunday and didn't really lose last night, but was so far ahead I was sure the victory was mine.

a welcome change....
Ohai!!! The Lolcatz!!! - They never fail to bring a smile to my face.
The big(ish) game on Monday was unsuccessful. Just didn't get the cards, and when I did, I may as well never had. After a very tiring weekend I was running on fumes all day (and night) Monday. Soon after my exit from the game I retired to my room for some much needed sleep. A drunken Colly went on to beat Folk Hero in the main event, with Folk Hero dancing the victory dance in the HellKat that followed.
Had to work Paddy's Day which sucked, but it gives me a day to take whenever, so that's all good. The weather is seriously picking up over here and it is much better to enjoy some sunshine instead of the cold and the rain that seemed to be a permanent fixture since the "summer" of 2008.
Business as usual on the poker scene tonight, so once again the fingers are crossed.
This made me laugh also. It must be said that the article launched massive waves of anger throughout the GNR forums I visit, but I guess that's the hardcore "fans" for ya......

....normal service resumes
A bad night of poker. All night, 59, 28 over and over. When I got a decent hand I used it accordingly, but the decent hands were too few and far between that I just got bled out. At least I didn't rebuy.... The 2 games of hellkat were a shambles also.... Hungover now.... that sucks.

The credit crunch hits everything
I won the impromptu "Folk Hero Invitational" last Friday. I lost the bottle in Sunday's game though. Had a good feeling about the K 10 I was dealt, but with two players already all-in before me, I feared the arrival of an ace would seal my fate. It turned out I folded what would have been a full house, crushing all others. Finished 3rd so didn't lose anything but still annoyance over not going with my gut feeling about the K10. A shocking exit all the same, I'm BB and dealt 10c 5c. Flop drops 3 clubs. Suggo raises, I go all in. Darragh legs it, Suggo calls. King high flush on the flop for Suggo and I'm packin my bags. Another game tonight, another chance to dance.
2 Liverpool fans have a laugh, lovely lads.

1000+ Hits and running.....
Not a lot to report, swerved my peril on Friday the 13th and had a non-stop valentine's weekend. Poker continues to suck though. If any positive can be taken from the nightmare, I guess it can be found in the fact that I am tightening up my game again, not winning a cent but at least I'm only losing €10 each game. I am happy in the fact that I am playing a good game (IMO) and when I get destroyed it's only down to luck, bad luck. Plans are afoot for some music making in the not too distant future. Nothing set in stone, but hopefully we'll get as many as we can into a studio and hopefully the magic will happen, as they say.
GTA: I can't win that damned race, then when I go to one of my other homies he brings me on a mission where I get slaughtered by around 1,000,000 drug dealers. It could be bazooka time....
NIN and Jane's Addiction touring together (NINJA tour...lol :)) ....now that'd be one I'd kill to see.
1000+ visitors to the blog, great stuff. I'll throw up a map of visitors which shows where some visitors live.
I guess it could mean any of these....

confusedish
hot, cold, hot, cold. I'll never know....
Poker's dropped me well over €100 since payday. Not good, and there doesn't look like there's any light at the end of this tunnel. Doing well in GTA though, now I gotta follow that biker and destroy him.
And now, some humour:

The way it was, and the way it will be
I think these pics are a fitting image considering the title of the post.....afterall, babies never lie!
Friday was a disaster, a €70 disaster. The cauldron was comprised of the following ingredients which all played their part in making the night a complete waste of time:
The bottle of Moet I sank before playing poker.
The annoying Ghostbusters receptionist (ya know the type) dealer who took an instant disliking to yours truly (and in turn vice-versa, see ya next Tuesday love).
The beadey-eyed skanger who played me at my own game and won (I b.s.'ed that I only go all in on AA or 72/0. The BES went all in and I folded fearing a two pair beating - I had top pair. When I folded, the BES dropped the 72/o and cackled. Moron.)
On a seperate note, I will cease impromtu practicing of my black metal vocals, as they can be grossly misinterpreted as something else entirely. Nuff said.
Saturday, woke up at 12.30 tried to get out of bed. No go. Lights out. 18:30: Take 2. A good night was had on Saturday, rocking the neighborhood of Phibsboro of all places.
Sunday, another case of €20 up in smoke thanks to poker. That's €90 I'm down so far this month - month beginning from my pay day. I really better win something quickly or give this shit up for once and for all.
Lost returned last week and after watching the double ep to kick off Season 5 I am now taking my hands off the handlebars and letting this baby drive itself. I have no idea where this show is going, I only hope it does. It was 2 hours of complete confusion watching those eps. Not bad, not good, just completely mystifying.
Another great ppv from Affliction. Far superior to the last (and many) UFC ppv (snorefest), but this Saturday's UFC ppv will be a different story. GSP-FTW
Orton wins the Royal Rumble, one of two WWE ppv's I watch a year, and the whole thing just seems jaded by now. Good to see RVD back, but knowing WWE, that'll prolly be the last we see of him until Rumble 2010.
