Once a-folkin'-gain....

(A picture of NIN performing "In This Twilight" on the final night of the Lights In The Sky tour. The tour looked amazing and its a shame we won't get to see it in all it's glory over here.)

Last night's house game started good. I played well, folding when I should fold, not get tempted by garbage disguised as greatness (Q 10 anyone?). When I had the cards I used them well (my slow rolled AA took Darragh temporarily out of the picture early on). All was going well, until a nasty hand depleted my chipstack. I had the guts of around €8 left and was dealt A5 suited. I had been getting a lot of crud so saw this as my opportunity to go all in.

then...

The fold-solid-crew got outta dodge and the call comes around to Folk Hero. And of course, he calls me. He then drops his catchphrase, "I think you have me here".

FH shows AQ (in reference to the catchphrase....how is AQ a dodgy hand????)

I drop my A5.

(at this point I knew my fate was sealed)

Here comes the flop
5! 5! (even now, I am skeptical) Q! (now I know I'm folked, it's just a matter of time....The Folkster laughs...)

Game over. If this happens in the big game (scheduled to take place on 26th December), I am retiring from poker (or not playing when FH does), and that is bottom line.

The Belgium Trip (part 2)

Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th November: In two days of complete and utter mayhem we did it all: from enjoying a new concept (introduced by Chris) known as "cocktails for breakfast" to gettin our gangsta on in the now notorious Formula 1 "hotel". Check here to check it, or here for the slideshow.

Unfortunately I ran out of film after day 3 so there ain't many pics after this. All in all, a great trip.

The Belgium Trip

Tuesday 25th November 2008, 06:00: Suggo, Chris and me set off on a trip to Belgium to transport Des & Mags' stuff back to IRL.
